Competition rulebook

From 26 October to 6 December, every club in the network competes for 7 WBC belts. Six weeks, all of them competitive: every workout counts from day one.

What is the Platinum League?

It's not just about you. It's about your club. If you train at Brooklyn Fitboxing between 26 October and 6 December, you're already competing.

Every club in the network takes part, competing for 6 weeks for 7 champion belts endorsed by the World Boxing Council (WBC). There are no training weeks and no rest weeks: all 6 weeks are competition weeks.

This isn't won by the biggest club or by whoever peaks on one particular day. It's won by the club that gets its fitboxers to give their best every week.

Calendar and phases

The league has 3 phases of 2 weeks each. Each week runs from Monday to Sunday: every club’s The 50 is live all week long and is locked in when Sunday closes (23:59 CET).

  1. Phase 1 · Group Stage Week 1 Oct 26 – Nov 1
  2. Phase 1 · Group Stage Week 2 Nov 2 – Nov 8
  3. Phase 2 · Qualifiers Week 3 Nov 9 – Nov 15

  5. Phase 3 · The Finals Week 5 Nov 23 – Nov 29 Semi-finals
  6. Phase 3 · The Finals Week 6 Nov 30 – Dec 6 Final
Phase 1 · Weeks 1 and 2

Group Stage

HQ splits the clubs into 32 geographic groups of 7 to 10 clubs. For 2 weeks, all the clubs in each group compete against each other.

At the end of the phase, each club's final position in its group decides the belt it will compete for during the rest of the league:

  1. 1st in group Legend
  2. 2nd in group Titan
  3. 3rd in group Icon
  4. 4th in group Master
  5. 5th in group Warrior
  6. 6th in group Rival
  7. 7th in group Contender

Clubs that finish 8th or lower do not continue in the competition.

Phase 2 · Weeks 3 and 4

Qualifiers

Each club now competes against clubs with the same belt. Within each belt, clubs are split into 4 groups of 8 (A, B, C and D) that compete against each other for 2 weeks, with the same scoring as in Phase 1.

Groups are allocated by a pure draw, with no seeds: no club starts with a matchup advantage. The draw takes place the moment the Group Stage closes (Sunday 8 November, 23:59 CET): each belt is drawn separately and the groups are set for the start of Qualifiers on Monday 9 November. As soon as the draw is published, each club will be able to see its group and opponents on its tracking page.

Only the winner of each group goes through to The Finals: 4 clubs per belt.

Phase 3 · Weeks 5 and 6

The Finals

The 4 group winners of each belt face each other in a knockout, one week per round.

Each matchup is decided the same way as the rest of the league: the club that scores most in the week according to The 50 wins. The winner of the final takes the belt for its category.

Belts

Your position at the end of the Group Stage decides which belt your club competes for during the rest of the league. There are 7, each with its own WBC belt, organised into two families:

Mythic Family Belts I, II and III
  • I · Legend Immortal
  • II · Titan Primordial power
  • III · Icon Icon
Combat Family Belts IV, V, VI and VII
  • IV · Master Mastery
  • V · Warrior Fighting spirit
  • VI · Rival The challenger
  • VII · Contender The one who enters the fray

How your club scores

Scoring is built in three steps: each workout generates Energy, each fitboxer's two best workouts make up their Prime, and the club's 50 best Primes make up its The 50.

1

Energy

Energy is your score in each session, and it's not just your bag score. It's the sum of 4 components; the points for each one appear in your app. What counts for the league is the session's total Energy.

  • SensorsWorkout points recorded by your sensor during class.
  • SocialTraining with others and bringing new people to the club.
  • ImprovementBeating your personal bests in Synchro and Power.
  • ConsistencyShowing up week after week and coming back after an absence.
2

Prime

Your Prime is the sum of your two best workouts of the week.

Out of all the workouts you do from Monday to Sunday, the two with the highest total Energy are added together. If you only train once, your Prime is the Energy of that workout. Every week starts from zero.

  • Monday109
  • Wednesday107
  • Friday111

The 50

Your club's weekly score is the sum of the Primes of its 50 best fitboxers.

When each week closes, the Primes of all the club's fitboxers are ranked and the top 50 are added up. The rest don't count, but anyone can make the top 50 with a good pair of workouts. If the club has fewer than 50 fitboxers with a Prime that week, all of them are added up.

Phase standings

When each Sunday closes, every club’s The 50 for the week is locked in. The phase standings are the sum of its 2 weekly The 50 scores: the club with the highest total finishes first, the next one second, and so on down to the last. There are no points per position: everything your top 50 add up counts until the end.

Example
  • Week 111,560
  • Week 211,620
Phase total23,180

In The Finals

Each matchup is calculated in exactly the same way: when Sunday closes, the club with the best The 50 of the week wins.

Who counts

  • Everyone counts. Members, clients, newcomers and affiliates. Anyone who trains that week has a Prime.

  • Global Pass. It doesn't matter where you train: if you do it at another club in the network, your workouts still count for your home club.

  • Everything counts. There are no points per position: the standings are the actual sum of both weekly The 50 scores, so every session counts until the very last day.

The prize

Physical WBC belt

The champion club of each belt receives a physical belt endorsed by the World Boxing Council, delivered to the club so it can show it off and enjoy it with its fitboxers. Only 7 clubs in the whole network can have one.

Appendices

Appendix 1

Tie-breakers

If two or more clubs finish a phase on the same points (the sum of their The 50 over the 2 weeks), the tie is broken with these criteria, in this order: if one does not separate them, the next one applies.

  1. Sensors. The Sensors points earned in the sessions that make up the club’s The 50 during the phase.

  2. Consistency. The Consistency points earned in those same sessions.

  3. Improvement. The Improvement points earned in those same sessions.

  4. Social. The Social points earned in those same sessions.

Appendix 2

Banned conduct

The Platinum League is played with each club’s real activity. This appendix lists the conduct contrary to fair play and respect that Brooklyn Fitboxing International may sanction. Each club is responsible for making sure it does not happen.
